The Great British Campout
Last weekend I took part in the Great British Campout 2020 in my garden to raise funds for the NHS staff and volunteer treating Covid-19 patients. Over the weekend the campaign raised a whopping £96,000, with such a great impact the campout has been extended to the Easter weekend to try and hit the £100k mark.
The campout is for everyone across the globe whilst in lockdown, you can set up camp in your garden or front room, if you have a campervan then you can camp on your front drive, pitch fees are £2 payable at the campouts JustGiving page.
You can camp hardcore style like the wild campers with the basics or you can glamp like me, with the home comforts of an air matress and duvet. I couldn’t resist with the house being so close to have the comforts of home in the tent, as well as the fact my boyfriend wouldn’t entertain the idea of sleeping bags on camping mats.
It’s a great way to enjoy time with the family or get away from them if you’re getting on top of each other being cooped up! You can campout for one night or the whole Easter weekend. Make sure you share your photos on the Facebook page and enjoy seeing how the nation is getting together to support the NHS. Get outside in your own house or garden and make it a fun way to spend another week in lockdown.
